Hey, Y’all

well… my name is Leigh. It’s pronounced like Raleigh… except…without the “Ra”!

Here are some cliff-notes about my life, how my career began, and my style…

At just 12 years old, I borrowed my father’s camera while tagging along with him to the Outer Banks to shoot old lighthouses for a wine brand. To my surprise, the photographs I took were actually used by that brand!

Photography has not been my only path. I spent many years with various modeling agencies. For12 years, I worked in fashion. All the while, I also built a career painting, creating abstract art and selling those works; having opened 2 studios over the years, both a galleries and a photography studio.

Circling back, I shot my first wedding at age 20. An opportunity and a camera was handed to me for the first time since I was that 12 year old girl; and I had no idea what I was doing, with no clue that life would come full circle. 2024 marks a whole decade of client experience under my belt!

STYLE & PROCESS

My favorite subject to capture is people- intimate weddings, portraits. On wedding days, I intentionally notice details and make sure they’re remembered in an artistic way.

My style is moody and emotionally driven- something that has never changed in 10+ years. I don’t slap a purchased filter on a bundle of photos and call it a day. My editing process was developed over years of trial and error! (Sometimes I toss in some film-style edits in my client’s galleries just for fun.. be prepared!)

FUN FACTS:

  • I’m a mom and I am blessed with a wonderful 4 year old boy(Henry).

  • Natural born ginger.

  • Favorite ice cream is Noosa Lemon Bar and I can’t stay away from it.

  • Coffee Order: Brown Sugar Cortado. hot

  • I have an Irish Wolfhound named Nessie

  • My hometown is Wilmington, NC

During a session, I spend more time encouraging movement rather than poses. BUT, there is an art to posing. So in those moments I help direct you to create some magical Vogue-worthy moments. Whatever the day brings, my goal is to bring a sense of calm, like, “that photographer’s GOT THIS” and you can just enjoy yourself.

Consider me a friend… with a camera in my hand and the eye of an artist.
